How to uninstall Mastercam on Windows 7

This guide will walk you through the process to uninstall Mastercam entirely from you computer. It is documented for 2017 but the process is the same for other versions of Mastercam. 

Before performing this uninstall, back up all machine definitions, control files, post files, tool libraries, operation libraries, wire power libraries, defaults files, and material files. This uninstall will remove these files from your computer, and all custom files WILL BE DELETED and are not recoverable.

Procedure:
  1. Left click Start, left click Control Panel, left click Programs and Features, left click Mastercam 2017, and choose uninstall. Follow the on-screen prompts. 
  2. Open Windows Explorer, either by clicking on the Windows Explorer icon or right clicking Start, and left clicking Windows Explorer.
  3. Navigate to Computer\C:\Program Files and delete the mcam2017 folder.
  4. Navigate to Computer\C:\Program Files(x86) and delete the mcam2017 folder.
  5. Navigate to Computer\C:\Users\Public\Public Documents and delete the Shared mcam2017 folder
  6. Navigate to Computer\C:\Users\User Acct\My Documents and delete my mcam2017 folder.
  7. Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type in regedit to open the registry editor.
  8. Left click on File, Export. Choose a location and save your current registry file. Deleting files from the registry must be done carefully. Having a back up file can save time and frustration if a wrong file is deleted.
  9. Navigate to HKEY_Current_User\Software\CNC Software, Inc. and delete the Mastercam 2017 entry.
  10. Navigate to HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\CNC Software, Inc. and delete the Mastercam 2017 entry.
